Department Responsibilities

To respond to emergency and non-emergency medical situations in Butler County. Also lending support when needed to all area county fire and rescue departments.

The Emergency Services staff is responsible for providing medical care in emergency situations to individuals in Butler County. The Butler County EMS (BCEMS) is a full service department operating 24 hours per day/365 days per year with full time paramedics and EMTs, coverage is provided by full crews. The station has five fully equipped Advanced Life Support ambulances to provide service to our residents and visitors.


Summary of Operations and Services

The Butler County Emergency Medical Services currently has four EMS providers on-call per shift responding to 2100+ calls per year. Butler County EMS provides 911 emergency medical care throughout the county. BCEMS is committed to the development of the latest advances in basic and advanced life support emergency care. Utilizing a comprehensive approach to education, training, technology and research. The goal of BCEMS is to provide the best patient care possibe for those who visit, reside and work in Butler County.


Emergency Operation Center

The Butler County Ambulance Service also operates the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) that includes the 911 Dispatch Center which dispatches for the ambulance service, Butler County Sheriff, Morgantown Police, County Fire Departments and Rescue Squad.
